Former Australia all-rounder Tom Moody has included England fast bowler Jofra Archer in his Indian Premier League team of the year but left out Virat Kohli and David Warner.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians face Delhi Capitals in the 2020 IPL final on Tuesday.
Moody has selected three Mumbai players – Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Jasprit Bumrah – and two Delhi stars – Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada.
There is no room for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad captains Kohli or Warner, however, despite both franchises reaching the play-offs.
Tom Moody’s IPL team of the year
Opening the batting for Moody are Dhawan, who became the first player in IPL history to score back-to-back centuries, and Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul, who is the current tournament top run-scorer.
Mumbai’s Yadav and Kishan feature in Moody’s top-order, alongside South Africa and Royal Challengers Bangalore star AB de Villiers, who finished the tournament with 454 runs.
Rajasthan Royals finished bottom of IPL 2020 but all-rounder Rahul Tewatia impressed and features alongside team-mate Archer, who took 20 wickets at an economy rate of less than seven.
Spinners Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal warranted picks, as did South Africa pace bowler Rabada and India star Bumrah, who will meet in Tuesday’s IPL final.
