Jamie Kah makes Victorian racing history with 100th city winner in a season

Jamie Kah has achieved Victorian racing history after becoming the first jockey to ride 100 city winners in a season at Caulfield on Saturday.

Stuck on 99 winners since last Saturday after going eight races without a winner at Sandown on Wednesday, Kah finally brought up her century when Deep Speed saluted in the second race.

Kah was $1.10 with the TAB to reach the milestone today and she knocked over the milestone early when the three-year-old gelding lead all the way and held off a late challenge by All Of Brighton.

“Big relief. It’s been a very, very long week. I’ve had some really good people around me getting me through it. It’s a big relief today and to do it for Tony & Calvin,” Kah said

“They’ve been such big supporters of my career. We’ve had lots of arguments and disagreements on the way through but they’ve supported me from day one and to get it on their horse is very special.

“I’m not the one for crowds and people cheering my name, it’s very foreign to me still. Wednesday was unbelievable to see that many people at Sandown. Today everyone and all the kids with signs, it’s very special.

“I was hearing the crowd and getting goosebumps over the line. It was pretty special so thank you to everyone for coming.”
