Where Thomas Partey’s wage packet sees him rank in Arsenal squad for salary size

Thomas Partey joined Arsenal on a mega-money deal on transfer deadline day – but his mammoth salary is dwarfed by that of some Gunners stars.

Partey signed a four-year deal with Mikel Arteta's side on Monday after Arsenal upset Atletico Madrid by triggering his £45million release clause on the final day of the transfer window.

The Ghana international has been hailed as "a top-drawer player" by Gunners legend Paul Merson, and will be paid a reported £200,000-per-week by the Premier League side.

But there are a few Emirates stars who will still take home more than the 27-year-old.

One of them, of course, is not even playing, with Mesut Ozil currently being paid £350,000 to not be involved.

The 31-year-old has not played since March having been frozen out under Mikel Arteta, and appears content to see out the remaining year of his conract.

Ozil scored some brownie points on Tuesday when he offered to pay the wages of Jerry Quy – who wears the costume of Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus – after he was it emerged he had been made redundant.

But even Ozil is not Arsenal's top earner, with that honour going to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Sun.

Aubameyang's salary is believed to be even more than Ozil's after the captain ended speculation about his future by signing a new three-year deal this summer.

Another summer signing is the Gunners' third-highest earner according to The Sun, with Willian on £220,000-per-week.

The winger signed on a free after his contract at Chelsea came to an end, with Arsenal able to pay him big wages due to not having to shell out a transfer fee.

Partey is fourth on the list, followed by Alexandre Lacazette on £182,000 a week, then last summer's £72m signing Pepe on £140,000 a week.
