Everton have been handed a major injury boost ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside derby with Allan, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman all back in training and expected to be fit to take on Liverpool.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side go into the game against their local rivals flying high at the top of the Premier League after a perfect start to the season that has seen them win all four of their matches.
It could be the best chance to finally end their hoodoo against Jurgen Klopp’s side, who arrive at Goodison Park on the back of their humiliating 7-2 defeat by Aston Villa.

Everton have also been boosted by the return of Allan for the arrival of Liverpool on Saturday
Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping to make it five wins from five against Jurgen Klopp’s champions
In a further boost, Ancelotti’s squad looks likely to include Allan, Gomes and Coleman who have all overcome fitness issues and returned to full training.
Speaking to evertontv, Ancelotti said: ‘Andre Gomes is available for Saturday, no problem.
‘Allan started to train with the team this week. If nothing happens in the next few days he will be available to play against Liverpool.
‘I think Seamus is going to be good, too, because he started to train with us on Monday.’
However, there are some concerns over the fitness of Colombian defender Yerry Mina.
He sat out Colombia’s 2-2 draw with Chile on Tuesday as a precaution after ‘feeling discomfort in his thigh’ and Everton’s medical team will assess Mina when he returns to Finch Farm.
Mina’s absence could open the door to an Everton debut for summer signing Ben Godfrey.
The centre back moved to Goodison Park from Norwich City on deadline day and will train with his new teammates for the first time this week.
Defender Yerry Mina is a doubt though after picking up a thigh issue on international duty
Mina’s absence could pave the way for an Everton debut for new signing Ben Godfrey
Ancelotti could hand Godfrey a baptism of fire against Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino but has backed the 22-year-old to thrive if needed against the Reds.
‘Godfrey is a a really talented player,’ Ancelotti added.
‘He is really fast, very quick. He has different characteristics from the centre-backs we have in this moment.
‘He is a complete defender, fast, good with his head and good with the ball. He has all the quality to be a really good centre-back.
‘He has experience in the Premier League. He was really happy to come here.
‘I think he will be a good signing, not only for the present because I think he is ready to play in the Premier League, but also for the future of the Club.
‘If he is fit, he is going to be in competition with the others [for the game against Liverpool].’
