Premier League clubs have now had 10 days to complete business in the January transfer window. Some teams have already made clear that they will spend vast sums this month while others are seemingly happy to take a back seat.

Everton have added two full-backs in Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson. Rafa Benitez is hoping to improve the club’s form in the second half of the season.

Aston Villa are expected to soon confirm an incredible deal to bring Philippe Coutinho to Villa Park. The former Liverpool star, who cost Barcelona £140million in 2018, will complete an initial loan move from the Catalan club.

Villa boss Gerrard has also been linked with a deal to sign Everton’s Lucas Digne, whose future was cast into doubt following the arrival of Mykolenko. Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the Frenchman.

Newcastle might move closer to a transfer for a centre-back. The Magpies confirmed their first deal of the new owners’ regime in Kieran Trippier last week, but a shock 1-0 FA Cup defeat by Cambridge proves that there is still work to be done.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are also rumoured to be keen to add to their ranks.
