Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has left Dele Alli on the bench for today’s Premier League clash with Chelsea. But, despite the England international being one of the club’s best players, Spurs fans love the team the Portuguese has chosen to pick.
Mourinho returns to Chelsea with Tottenham today, the club he won three Premier League titles with earlier in his career.
Alli has been left on the substitute’s bench this afternoon after throwing a strop in midweek.
The England international took issue with Mourinho’s decision to hook him in the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.
But despite Alli being absent, Tottenham fans have taken to social media to hail Mourinho for his team selection.
“OMDSSSSSSS WHAT A LINEUP,” said one enthusiastic supporter.
“GREAT TEAMM,” were the words of a second positive fan.

“WHAT A TEAM,” said a third.
A fourth added: “OMDSSSSS WHAT A TEAM.”
“YESSSSSSS WHAT A TEAM,” opined a fifth fan, who also accompanied their message with love heart emojis.
And another added: “SOLID LETS GOOOOOO.”
Mourinho said before the match that he’d been told information of Chelsea’s tactics, in comments sure to irk Frank Lampard.
“The same way you have a lot of news and you don’t tell the sources,” he said when quizzed on how he knew about the Blues line up.

“Tomorrow the same. I was told the same.
“I was told they were back to a back five which is what they normally do when their results are not the best.
“They did that when they went to Lille, they did that when they came to us, a system they played for a few of us, and are very comfortable with.
“It is a system very adapted to their routine and the qualities of their players, but they have so many options that they can do what the manager decides to do.”
Mourinho also admitted injuries to the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son had complicated things for Tottenham.
“At the moment we don’t have many options to think in the game on the tactical approach,” the Spurs manager continued.
“We have what we have, with the players I have available, we have to try to build a competitive team.
“The situation is difficult. I think nobody else in the Premier League for sure, but even in European football, is in such a difficult situation as we are in terms of injuries in specific positions.
“If we manage to finish fourth without Harry and Sonny it would be something incredible, incredible achievement for the boys.”
Mourinho will be hoping to avoid a repeat of what happened when Tottenham met Chelsea earlier in the season.
Spurs lose 2-0 on their own ground with Willian bagging a brace for the Blues.
