Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could dip into the EFL market for a new goalkeeper before Friday’s deadline.
First choice shot-stopper Alisson is out injured while Adrian conceded seven against Aston Villa before the international break.
And Klopp may decide to find a new back-up to Alisson while he can with Premier League clubs still able to sign players from the EFL.
Klopp has backed Adrian saying: “He is a really good goalie. Last year we played 11 games with him and won pretty much all. Tonight our goalie was not the problem. The reaction to the first goal was not his problem, it was our problem.”
But that doesn’t mean the German won’t replace Adrian, and Daily Star Sport have looked at three options.
Butland last featured for Stoke in July in a 5-0 hammering against Leeds United having lost his first-team place to Wales international Adam Davies.
Butland has spent years with Stoke and may be set to leave the Championship club but could appeal to Liverpool due to his Prem experience.
Ex-England keeper Paul Robinson said: “I can see Liverpool signing the likes of Jack Butland on a short-term deal.
“He is a player who has experience of big games.”
Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Thiago could face Everton as pair return to training
Watford keeper Ben Foster has plenty of Premier League experience, and also played for a ‘big’ team as spent five years with Manchester United.
He’s been a regular for the Hornets though former Prem striker Kevin Phillips believes Foster is an ideal choice for Klopp.
Phillips said: "If I was Jurgen Klopp, I would go for Ben Foster. If you put me on the spot. Give me Ben Foster any day of the week.
"He was outstanding for Watford last season, even though they went down. Foster is a safe pair of hands, even at his age.
"I would pick him over Jack Butland. Foster has been far more consistent and has the greater experience as well."

Asmir Begovic is back between the posts for Bournemouth following Aaron Ramsdale’s departure to Sheffield United, but a move to Liverpool would surely be of interest.
The Bosnian also has plenty of Premier League experience and spent two years at Chelsea.
He even made a couple of Serie A appearances last season, joining Italian giants AC Milan on loan from Bournemouth.
