Brighton have confirmed young defender Tariq Lamptey has signed a new long-term deal at the club.
Sportsmail reported earlier this week that the talented 20-year-old had been in talks to extend his stay at the Amex.

Lamptey has caught the eye after moving from Chelsea, having signed a three-year deal last January.
The England youngster wasted no time in cementing himself as the first-choice right back at Brighton – and unsurprisingly attracted attention from several elite clubs.
It is understood Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Sevilla are all admirers of Lamptey.

Boss Graham Potter expressed his elation over Lamptey’s extension in a statement on the club’s website.
He said: ‘We are delighted to see Tariq commit his long-term future here.
‘We knew his potential when we signed him a year ago, and hoped he would have a really positive impact on the club, and that has proved to be the case with his performances since June.
‘He has been the model professional, he works exceptionally hard, is a humble lad and is a team player. He fits in with everything we would want from a player, now it’s about helping him reach his potential.’

Dan Ashworth, Brighton’s technical director, believes the new deal is a testament to how well Lamptey has ‘adjusted’ to the rigours of the top flight.
‘He fully deserves the new contract and has earned it with his hard work and performances,’ he added.
‘It now gives him and the club the opportunity to continue on the path he has started on since he joined last January.’
Lamptey has made 19 first-team appearances for Brighton so far but is currently ruled out of action due to a hamstring injury.

The starlet has missed out on six games already due to the issue, which was sustained in December, but has suffered a slight setback during his recovery.
The problem will likely see him absent for another fortnight – meaning he will not be available to play against Leeds, Fulham and Tottenham.
He may also miss out on the clash against champions Liverpool early next month.
