Spurs boss insists he wouldn’t swap Harry Kane for Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo insists he would not even consider swapping Harry Kane for Chelsea hot shot Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku and Kane are two of the Premier League's deadliest marksman, although the latter of the pair has had a difficult start to the season after his failed move to Manchester City.

The 28-year-old is still without a goal in the Premier League this term, which has left him facing an uphill battle for the Golden Boot following his rival's start to life back at Stamford Bridge.

Belgian hitman Lukaku has three goals in three games since completing a sensational return to west London, putting him joint-third with five others place in the race to be crowned the division's top scorer.

Nuno, though, isn't concerned by Kane's lack of goals, and is glad to have Kane in his team instead of Lukaku.

Speaking ahead of the London derby between the two sides on Sunday, the Spurs boss said: "I don’t even consider that option because it’s something that I don’t think about – for me, it doesn’t make sense. Harry is an amazing player."

Nuno praised Kane’s ability and attitude after the England captain failed to force through a move to the Etihad earlier this summer.

He added: "I have been impressed with his quality and talent.

"I think he still can improve. We are in that process of trying to find the best levels of fitness. But his dedication has been huge."

Kane is available for Sunday's clash, but Nuno has problems elsewhere.

Striker Son Heung-min, defender Eric Dier and midfielder Ryan Sessegnon are all injured and set to miss the match.

Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura are also big doubts after picking up injuries in Tottenham's 2-2 Europa Conference League draw with Rennes on Thursday night.

However, there is some good news for the Portuguese boss with Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez all earmarked to return.

The trio have been training in Croatia where they have been self-isolating, after travelling to South America for international duty.

Nuno said: "They arrive back Saturday and will have a training session in the afternoon. If they are available and fit, they will be in the squad.

"They are working hard in Croatia with the sports science department. We'll assess them properly."
