Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Manchester United's transfer targets in meetings after the 2020/21 season.
The Red Devils finished 12 points behind local rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, having appeared to be in the title race at one stage of the campaign.
Reinforcements will now be required for United to challenge again next season, but who will Solskjaer identify as the players capable of taking the team to the next level?
Daily Star Sport have assessed the likely names that the United boss is likely to have mentioned as possible purchases in the coming weeks…
RW – Jadon Sancho
An obvious first name on this list.
United are in need of more options on the right side of the pitch and have turned their attention to Jadon Sancho once again.
The Red Devils are making more progress with their move for the 21-year-old in comparison to last year, according to a recent report by the Athletic.
United saw their opening offer for the youngster turned down, with Dortmund holding out for more than the £75.5million offered.
Both parties had hoped to finalise a deal prior to Euro 2020 kicking off, though there is still plenty of time after the tournament for this happen.
CB – Raphael Varane
It's no secret that United have been lacking in this department for quite some time.
Harry Maguire's injury at the end of the season exposed how vulnerable the Red Devils' backline can be without his presence in the heart of defence.
Victor Lindelof has been an inconsistent player for the team, meanwhile Eric Bailly has struggled to stay fit and has missed match action as a result.
Varane is a name that has been linked with United in recent months as his contract saga at Real Madrid remains unsolved.
The Frenchman will see his current deal at the club expire next summer and is yet to agree an extension with Los Blancos.
ST – Harry Kane
Although Edinson Cavani impressed for Solskjaer's side during his debut campaign at Old Trafford, the Uruguayan is not the long-term answer to the team's goalscoring fortunes.
The 34-year-old agreed a one-year extension with United, but it's time the Red Devils started planning for the future.
Harry Kane would be a perfect addition to the team and would guarantee plenty of goals for Solskjaer.
Negotiating a deal for the 27-year-old with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy could be where this potential move hits a stumbling block.
Spurs will be reluctant to sell their star striker this summer and are likely to demand a fee worth over £100m for Kane.
RB – Kieran Trippier
After an excellent season with Atletico Madrid, Kieran Trippier may have found himself on Solskjaer's list of summer targets.
The former Spurs right-back has relaunched his career in Spain and is likely to feature for England at Euro 2020.
United are seeking cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who played a total of 54 matches in the 2020/21 season.
Trippier's value has risen since moving to La Liga, but this is a transfer deal that United could still complete.
