Paris Saint-Germain chief Leonardo has called for Real Madrid to be "punished" over their attempts to sign Kylian Mbappe.
Madrid were willing to pay a world-record €220million (£187m) to land Mbappe on the final day of the transfer window, according to Sky Sports.
It was claimed PSG didn't respond to the La Liga giants, with the French side having rejected at least one previous bid.
But Madrid president Florentino Perez said he hopes "everything can be solved" by January, when Mbappe will be free to strike a pre-contract agreement with teams from outside France.
Now PSG's sporting director has hit out at Los Blancos, blasting the club for "speaking publicly" about the 22-year-old, and claiming they have been trying to lure him away "for two years".
"From Madrid they deny, but I think Real Madrid have been doing a job to buy Mbappé for a long time," said Leonardo at the Festival dello Sport.
"For two years they have been speaking publicly about Mbappé. This must be be punished."
Earlier this week, Leonardo accused Madrid of a "lack of respect" over comments about Mbappe.
"In the same week, we've had a Real Madrid player [Karim Benzema], the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and now the president of Real Madrid speak of Kylian as if he were their own player," he told French outlet L'Equipe.

"It's a lack of respect that we can't tolerate.
"That [pursuit] from Florentino has been happening for two years.
"I only want to remind [everyone] the transfer window is over, that the season is going on.
"There are games, and Real Madrid cannot continue to behave like this. Make it stop! Kylian is a PSG player, and the club understands perfectly that this relationship will last."
Mbappe has less than nine months remaining on his contract with PSG, but Leonardo is confident he will renew his deal.

And he said the striker forms a "perfect" front line for Mauricio Pochettino's side alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar.
"Our idea is to extend Kylian Mbappe contract," said Leonardo at the Festival dello Sport. "Nothing has changed in our plans. Kylian is a jewel, he is incredibly perfect for PSG… then we've Kylian, Leo, Ney. We've never planned PSG future without Mbappe."
The Brazilian also spoke about PSG's signing of Messi this summer, saying no approach was made for the player before he announced he was leaving Barcelona.
"Messi was convinced to stay in Barcelona, but we started talking to him after the surprise of the news that he would be leaving the club."
