Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has the “nastiness” of Arsenal legend Ian Wright and should be labelled a Premier League great.
That’s the verdict of former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, who was waxing lyrical about the Gunners striker’s goalscoring record on Monday Night Football.
Aubameyang was at the double for Arsenal in their crucial 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday, restoring the home side’s lead on two occasions.
The brace has taken his Premier League tally for the season to 17, meaning he sits level with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy at the top of the Golden Boot charts.

He has also bagged a phenomenal 60 goals in 95 appearances for the Gunners since completing a £56m switch from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
And Neville has insisted Aubameyang deserves to be mentioned as a Premier League great, while also comparing the Gabon international to Gunners hero Wright.

“You talk about Arsenal lacking characters and lacking leadership, well I think this guy is everything that you would want,” he said.
“There's a bit of Ian Wright here. There is a bit of nastiness in him.
“I think in his interviews after games he shows personality and character. He works hard off the ball, he works hard on the ball.

“If you look at his minutes per goal in Premier League history; [Sergio] Aguero at the top, Harry Kane, Henry… he's one minute behind Theirry Henry.

“Aubameyang is scoring more goals per minute than Van Nistlerooy. It is unbelievable the performance of this lad over the past two and a half years.
“We don't often mention him as world class, we don't often mention him as a Premier League great – and I think we have to.”
And Graeme Souness has urged Arsenal to do whatever they can to keep hold of Aubameyang this summer, amid reported interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
