Peter Crouch feels Chelsea should follow Liverpool's lead and cash-in on Callum Hudson-Odoi now.
The 19-year-old winger is the subject of heavy interest from long-term admirers Bayern Munich and could depart Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts.
Bayern have already seen one huge bid rejected by Chelsea but are expected to return with an improved offer on deadline day.
Hudson-Odoi is regarded as a huge prospect for the future and started Chelsea's 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, but Crouch thinks Frank Lampard should move him on like how Liverpool sold promising talent Rhian Brewster.
"It comes down to what Frank thinks of the player," Crouch told BT Sport . "It’s clear he has potential and he will improve.
"But has he improved since he was that 18-year-old who burst onto the scene and took our breath away? Maybe not.
"I don’t think he’s improved at the level that I think they would have thought he would.
"Maybe it’s time [to cash in]. You look at Liverpool cashing in on Rhian Brewster…
"If you can get a buy-back clause and a potential sell-on fee it might not be a bad deal given the amount of money and the investments Chelsea have already made."
