Wolves are eyeing an ambitious move for Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Reds’ capture of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich is likely to push Oxlade-Chamberlain further down the pecking order at Anfield.
And Wolves hope to take advantage by convincing them there is a deal to be done.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League last season to help his club become champions for the first time in 30 years.
But he struggled to hold down a place in the starting line-up and following Thiago’s arrival he will find those kinds of opportunities even harder to come by.
Liverpool will want to recoup as much of the £25million they paid to take him from Arsenal in 2017 as possible if they are to sell the 27-year-old.
He has missed the start of the season after injuring a knee during the club’s pre-season trip to Austria.
Wolves have already bought one player from Liverpool to Molineux this transfer window, confirming the £9million signing of Ki-Jana Hoever on Saturday.
Would Oxlade-Chamberlain be a shrewd signing by Nuno Espirito Santo? Have your say here.

The 18-year-old defender made four senior appearances for the Reds and scored in last season's Carabao Cup win over Milton Keynes Dons.
Hoever picked up UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup winners' medals with the club but leaves in search of more frequent first-team opportunities.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota has moved in the opposite direction, for a fee which could rise to £45million.
After a successful loan spell in the west Midlands, Nuno Espirito Santo permanently signed Jota from Atletico Madrid in 2018.
The Portugal international has scored 16 Premier League goals and will provide backup for Liverpool's established front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
