Norwich legend Grant Holt says Delia Smith will be raising a glass to promotion and hopes fans will toast her too after the European Super League debacle.
The Canaries are preparing for another crack at the Premier League after clinching automatic promotion last weekend.
They need just five more points to win the title ahead of Saturday's trip to QPR.
The Norfolk outfit will not have vast millions to spend this summer as they are a self-financing club under joint-majority shareholder Smith.
But City's prolific former striker Holt, 40, reckons fans should cherish TV chef Delia even more after the ugly fiasco of the ill-fated greedy attempted breakaway by the self-proclaimed big six.
Holt, who scored 78 goals for the club from 2009-2013, said: “I think Delia will open some of the nice wine that sits in the office.
“She will be absolutely delighted at promotion but will be devastated the fans haven't seen it.
“Last weekend there were some fans at the ground and she went out and spoke to them.
“She loves Norwich City and seeing the fans delighted.
“People have given her a bit of stick for a lack of investment.
“But in the current climate with everything that has gone on this week – which owner do you want?
“The one thing is she cares about the football club.
“I would rather have her than any other owner at the moment.
“Every fan dreams of a big billionaire coming in and being in the top six of the Premier League forever.
“You can compete and the big names come in but the reality is that hasn't happened.”
The Canaries also reached the top flight in 2003-04, 2010-11, 2014-15 and 2018-19 before relegation on three of the following four seasons.
Holt was part of Norwich's side which bucked the trend in 2012 to stay up.
He assessed: “We never really got in that habit of losing when the confidence gets sucked out of you.But they won't be overawed this time.
“They are a better unit than they were and are better defensively by a country mile.
“They have been better when they lost the ball and haven't given it away in sloppy areas. Lessons were learned from getting relegated and they have tweaked it.”
Holt was also Norwich’s player of the year three times running from 2009 to 2011.
So who does he reckon should get the trophy this year from Daniel Farke's side?
“Oliver Skipp has been my player of the season,” he replied about the on-loan holding midfielder from Spurs.
“Skipp has been unbelievable.”
