Northern Ireland vs Slovakia: TV channel and FREE live stream for EURO 2020 play-off

Northern Ireland will be hosting Slovakia on Thursday night, with a place at EURO 2020 up for grabs. Ian Baraclough’s side will be hoping to qualify for the major tournament after seeing off Bosnia-Herzegovina in the play-off semi-final.

Northern Ireland vs Slovakia team news

Northern Ireland have a relatively fully fit squad to choose from for the clash at Windsor Park.

Blackburn Rovers’ midfielder Corry Evans was ruled out of the tie earlier this month, however.

He picked up a hamstring injury during their 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers at the start of November.

Otherwise, Baraclough has plenty of options to choose from, including the backbone of Bailey Peacock-Farrel, Stuart Dallas, Craig Cathcart, Steven Davis and Paddy McNair.

Elsewhere, Slovakia interim boss Stefan Tarkovic has handed a recall to former Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss.

Weiss returns to the Slovakian squad for the first time in two years.

Defender Milan Skriniar is expected to return to the starting line-up after missing out against the Republic of Ireland last time out.

Marek Hamsik is in line to make his 124th international appearance; more than any other player in Slovakia’s history.

What has been said?

Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis said: “It’s a very positive camp. I feel there’s a real focus in the squad with a lot of energy in the last couple of days in training and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.

“It will be like a European-style game – they are a quality team with technical players.

“They want to get the ball on the floor and try to cause problems with overloads in certain areas.

“We just have to play to our strengths – play the way we know we can and I believe we can cause them problems – it’s very winnable.”
