A football finance expert has made a prediction for Newcastle's future under their new Saudi-backed owners which will not please the club's fans.
There was jubilation on Tyneside last week when the news broke that the takeover funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, worth £320billion, was completed and Mike Ashley was gone.
Magpies fans are hopeful of a massive change in fortunes which will see them go from bottom-half strugglers to Premier League title contenders.
But change takes time, and supporters who believe they can emulate the almost instant success of Manchester City have been hit with a knock by one expert.
Dr. Tom Bason feels Newcastle will take much longer than the four years it took City to win their first title.
He told Sky Sports: "Well, it won't be easy. We've seen lots of clubs in recent years spend lots of money and not reach the top four. Everton, for example. And money isn't a guarantee of success.
"City and Chelsea have money but they also have excellent infrastructure within the club that has taken them many years to build up.
What will Newcastle have achieved in 10 years time? Let us know in the comments section.

"So in terms of their playing and financial management within the club, it's not something that's come overnight.
"Within 10 years it's certainly feasible if they start to put the right building blocks in place now."
The Toon army may have thought their success would come even quicker than City's as their new owners are worth more than 10 times the net worth Sheikh Mansour holds.
However, if Bason is right with his prediction, they will have a longer wait than anticipated for Prem glory.
The next few months are set to be huge for the north-east club with the potential of a new manager and a whole host of new players.
Steve Bruce remains in charge for now ahead of Sunday's match against Tottenham, but the rumour mill has gone into overdrive about who could replace him and who the club will sign in January.
