Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has rubbished claims that he will move to Barcelona this month. The Portugal international was left out of the Red Devils’ starting line-up on Monday night as they were beaten 1-0 by Wolves.
Fernandes arrived at Old Trafford to a fanfare welcome two years ago after the club shelled out an initial £47million to prise him away from Sporting Lisbon.
And the 27-year-old has been a sensation in England.
He racked up an impressive eight goals and seven assists in just 14 Premier League games in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign after joining the side in late January.
And in his first full season in the northwest, Fernandes struck a staggering 28 goals and 21 assists in all competition.
He picked up where he left off at the beginning of this season as he scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 thumping of Leeds United on the opening weekend of the campaign.

But his output has significantly dropped since Cristiano Ronaldo returned to United in August and Fernandes has only scored two goals and contributed three assists in the Premier League since the first transfer window slammed shut.
The talented player did rack up six assists in five Champions League group game appearances before Christmas. But his domestic form will surely be of concern to interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
With United’s form suffering over the autumn, there have been rumours of discontent in the Red Devils squad.
And Portuguese outlet SPORT TV has recently reported that Fernandes could be on his way to the Nou Camp as his representatives attempt to agree a January transfer.

Fernandes clearly took exception to the post and responded directly to put the record straight.
“And I thought the new year only started a few days ago, yet we’re already on April 1,” the Portuguese superstar wrote.
“Or is this once again just bad journalism?”
Former United ace Paul Ince is one man who thinks Fernandes could be heading for the Old Trafford exit, alongside a string of his team-mates.
The 54-year-old believes the 13-times Premier League champions need to rebuild if they are to compete for honours once again.
“Ronaldo’s got a year left – he’s not the future,” Ince said on Thursday. Nor is [Edinson] Cavani. [Paul] Pogba could be gone. Bruno could go.
“You look at the players that are playing now. Fred isn’t good enough, we know that. [Scott] McTominay isn’t good enough, we know that. [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka has lost all his confidence, he’s not the right choice. [Jadon] Sancho looks miles off it.
“We’ve got a long, long way to go. I can’t see Rangnick being in charge next year.”
