Manchester United wonderkid Charlie McNeil aimed a cheeky dig at rivals Liverpool ahead of their potential FA Youth Cup clash.
United saw off local side Salford on Wednesday night with a 2-0 away win to put themselves into the fourth round.
Daniel Gore got on the end of Iestyn Hughes’s fine cross to open the scoring for United, before McNeil doubled the lead with some fine skill to beat his man and tuck the ball home from a tight angle.
Victory at the Peninsula Stadium means United’s youngsters will either play Liverpool or Sutton in the next round.
Of course, the Reds are heavy favourites to beat non-league Sutton, who play in the Isthmian Youth League Central Division.
And promising United talent McNeil, who is also a huge fan of the club, has got the pre-match jibes going already with some fighting talk about Liverpool.
“I’m over the moon, especially with the win to get to the next round,” he told MUTV.
“I’ve scored 15 goals this season but most of that is down to my teammates assisting me well and creating chances.
“I put a nice goal away and could have had another one towards the end, I’m a bit frustrated with myself and I know I could have scored
“I love it here [Manchester United], It’s amazing.
"I’m a United fan, I love the club through and through and I’ve settled in really well.
“We’ll look to go all the way. In the next round, we might have Liverpool which we know is a derby, an amazing game to play in.

"Hopefully we can keep progressing and we can win that game to rub it in Liverpool’s face.”
Liverpool host Sutton next Tuesday, while the fourth round clash will take place on April 3.
