Manchester United are reportedly considering a January move for Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara.
Kamara was a target for several Premier League clubs in the summer – including Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Wolves – and French outlet La Provence reported that the latter two made an offer to sign the 22-year-old.
The defensive midfielder – who can also operate as a centre-back – has a contract which is set to expire at the end of June.
That means Kamara will be able to negotiate with other clubs over a pre-contract should he wish to do so from next month onwards.
And according to The Athletic, United are weighing up the possibility of doing just that.
Catalan giants Barcelona and perennial Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also said to be admirers.
Such a move could favour Marseille, who would be able to receive a fee for a player likely to be unwilling to stay at the club beyond the length of his current deal.
Kamara made his Marseille debut in 2016 and has gone on to register more than 100 appearances for the club.
The defensive midfielder – who has represented France from Under-17 to Under-21 level – has once again been a mainstay in Jorge Sampaoli’s Marseille side this season, making 14 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring once.

It’s no secret United remain in need of a defensive midfielder to bolster their chances of success and Kamara could fit the bill perfectly.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has so far favoured Fred and Scott McTominay in defensive midfield during his tenure.
The duo once again started in the middle of the park for United as they beat Norwich 1-0 at Carrow Road on Saturday thanks to a winning penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The win moves United up to fifth in the table after 16 games, one point adrift of West Ham – who occupy the final Champions League spot.
Dutchman Donny van de Beek and the experienced Nemanja Matic remain as United’s other options in defensive midfield at Old Trafford.
