Manchester United have been tipped to beat Liverpool and Real Madrid to the signing of Kylian Mbappe.
According to The Times , Mbappe has informed Paris St-Germain chiefs of his desire to leave the club next summer.
The France superstar is on the hunt for a new challenge to further his career after spending two years in Paris, alerting a number of top sides in Europe.
It is believed he is interested in a move to either La Liga or the Premier League at the end of this season – with United, Liverpool and Madrid reportedly on his radar.
And former Red Devils defender Luke Chadwick believes his old side have the appeal to win the race for Mbappe’s signature.
“I think it was essential that Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] got the club into the Champions League,” Chadwick told CaughtOffside .
“Every player knows the history of Manchester United and what the club wants to achieve.
“They’ve had seven poor years now, but these players can be a part of bringing the glory years back.
“I think Manchester United can still appeal to the world’s best players like Kylian Mbappe.”
Given PSG forked out around £160million to prise him away from Monaco in 2018, Mbappe will not come cheap to any potential suitor next summer.
Chadwick isn’t convinced United or bitter rivals Liverpool would be able to afford him, especially in the current climate.
“The problem is Liverpool now, I don’t know where the finance would come from,” he added.
“Obviously United have huge financial clout, but to bring someone like Mbappe is going to cost a small fortune.

“He’d definitely be worth the money but it’s whether the Premier League clubs can afford that at this moment in time.
“Obviously Paris look like they’ve got money to burn so you do worry if the likes of United and Liverpool could spend that sort of money to get Mbappe into the Premier League, particularly in the current situation.”
