Man Utd star Luke Shaw issues blunt message to Chelsea over Premier League top four race

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has said the club will do everything to catch Chelsea and ensure Champions League football next season. The left-back was impressive in the 3-0 win over Watford in the Premier League this afternoon.

Bruno Fernandes scored the opener at Old Trafford from the penalty spot after the Portuguese was brought down in the area.

Anthony Martial then netted a superb individual effort before Mason Greenwood lashed home to complete the rout.

And Shaw has warned Chelsea, United will not stop until they get into the top four.

He told Sky Sports: “We got what we needed and that was three points. Let’s keep pushing.

“The most important thing is we closed the gap to Chelsea.

“This club is known for playing in the big competitions. We all miss the Champions League nights so much, that is what we want next season.

“We need to fight and earn it.”

Shaw has impressed in the last week since United returned from the winter break.

The Red Devils have beaten Chelsea and Watford in the Premier League, while drawing 1-1 away at Club Brugge in the Europa League.

Fernandes impressed again for United as he netted his first goal for the club and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised the Portuguese after the win.

He said: “A very good win, two good wins and two clean sheets, some goals to celebrate, now we want to kick on.

“I thought first half we started by gifting them some good opportunities and gradually we created more and more chances.
