Man Utd star has problem with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Watford Premier League snub

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly made Eric Bailly worried for his Old Trafford future. The Ivory Coast international was left on the bench for the club’s 3-0 win over Watford on Sunday.

Sunday was a good afternoon for Manchester United, with the club putting in a fine display to close the gap on Chelsea in the race for the Premier League top four.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot, sending Ben Foster the wrong way with a calm finish.

And further goals from Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood propelled United to a straightforward victory on home soil.

For the match at Old Trafford, Solskjaer opted to field Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire together at centre-back.

Yet Bailly was benched and, now, the Mirror say the Ivory Coast international is sweating on his future at the club.

Just last Monday, the defender put in a commanding display as United beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

It was a stunning performance from the Ivorian, leading to many fans to call for Bailly to start week in, week out.

But Bailly reportedly wasn’t told that he’d be back among the substitutes for the match against Watford.

And, now, he’s concerned that his days at United may be winding down.

Premier League duo Arsenal and Tottenham have shown interest in the former Villarreal star in the past – and could reignite their interest when the transfer window reopens this summer.

And clubs from Spain are also supposedly keen on luring Bailly away from Old Trafford and back to La Liga.

Bailly’s biggest grievance appears to be with Solskjaer himself.

The lack of communication is what has irked the 25-year-old and whether he returns for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Club Brugge is something only time will tell.

Meanwhile, speaking on Sunday, Solskjaer hailed his United side for their performance against Watford.

“It was a very good win,” the Norwegian said.

“That’s two good wins and two clean sheets [in the league since the winter break], plus some goals to celebrate.

“I thought, in the first half, we started by gifting them some good opportunities but, gradually, we created more and more chances.

“It’s been a very good week, overall.

“We also got an away goal and score-draw in Europe so I’m very pleased with everyone after the good break we had.

“That was an important week in Marbella; building team spirit, camaraderie and some understanding between players. It’s working. Now we want to kick on.”
