Man Utd fans vote for Ten Hag’s captain and decide on transfer they want to see

Manchester United fans are already looking ahead to the Erik ten Hag era after more disappointment on Saturday lunchtime.

The Red Devils saw their top-four hopes dashed as Arsenal brushed aside Ralf Rangnick's side with a 3-1 win. After the clash, Rangnick admitted there was no chance of a Champions League spot for United this season.

And it appears that Red Devils fans hold the same view as they have already turned their attention to the imminent arrival of Ten Hag. According to a survey from British Gambler, 2,000 fans have decided on captaincy and who they think United should sign.

According to the survey, United fans have snubbed current captain Harry Maguire for the armband next season.

Maguire only received 13 per cent of votes for the armband, with both Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo receiving more votes from the fans. Ronaldo is the overwhelming favourite to be handed the armband, with 52 per cent of fans wanting Ronaldo to be crowned as United's new captain.

The 36-year-old has been captain at both Real Madrid and Juventus as well as his national side.

United fans were also given the opportunity to vote on who they wanted to see at Old Trafford next season.

33 per cent of fans want to see United swoop in for Antonio Rudiger – who will leave Chelsea over the summer with his contract up. United's defence came under criticism over the weekend, especially for the Gunners' first less than five minutes into the clash.

21 per cent of fans voted for Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips, while 17 per cent hoped United move for Harry Kane in the summer. Other names mentioned were Youri Tielemans and wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
