Man Utd fans slam Edinson Cavani after they started second half with 10 men

Manchester United had to play the first 26 seconds of the second half against Southampton with ten men, as substitute Edinson Cavani was not ready.

United were 2-0 down at the break at St Mary’s with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making a pair of changes.

Goalkeeper David de Gea was replaced by Dean Henderson while summer signing Cavani came on for Mason Greenwood.

Despite having the half-time break to prepare, Cavani was not ready for the second half to begin.

And it meant United had to play the first 26 seconds after the break with ten men with Cavani still doing up his laces on the sideline.

It was a change worth making for Solskjaer though as Cavani netted United’s second as they pulled it back in the second half.

Though Red Devils fans weren’t impressed by the Uruguayan’s lack of preparation, with one writing on social media: “Nothing sums utd up more than starting the second half with 10 men as Cavani is sorting his boots out. Not like there was a full 15 minutes to get ready. Shocking.”

Another put: “If that was Sunday league football Edinson Cavani would be getting a £1.50/£2 fine for wearing the wrong boots and not being ready for the start because he’s changing them.”

And a third put: “DDG bottled it. Should have saved the second goal & didn’t fancy it after that. Then Cavani has 15 minutes to get ready and still wasn’t ready to start the second half. Absolute Shambles.”

While another United fan added: “Cavani not ready to start second half even though he had all of half time to get ready perfectly illustrates the ineptitude of the whole organisation.”

One more fumed: “Second half kicks off and Cavani isn't even ready tying his laces ffs. Get some effing organisation Ole.”
