Manchester United star Paul Pogba may have inadvertently sounded alarm bells over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's future at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman yet again went public with his admiration of other clubs last week, admitting it would be a 'dream' to play for Real Madrid.
Pogba's fawning over Zinedine Zidane's side looks set to end in failure, however, with the Spanish club uninterested in a mega-money swoop.
But the Daily Mirror report it could affect Solskjaer's future at United, and see Mauricio Pochettino drafted in.
The publication suggests Pogba's recent come-and-get-me plea has reminded Red Devils chiefs that they need a more forceful managerial presence in the dugout.
United chiefs also know Pochettino won't be around forever and could pounce on the former Spurs man if Solskjaer continues to struggle.
Last season's third-place finishers have lost two of their opening three league matches this term.
And Solskjaer's future is up in the air, with bookmakers installing the Norwegian as the favourite to lose his job in the Premier League.
As for Pogba, his future has once again been thrown into doubt.
"Yes, all football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?" he said last week.
"We haven't spoken about a new deal.
"At the moment, I am in Manchester and I am concentrating about getting back to my best form.
"I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not.
"So far, nothing has happened. I can't tell you something that I don't know."

Pogba has struggled so far this season, failing to continue his fine post-lockdown form.
The Frenchman's woes have been echoed by his team-mates.
Last Sunday's 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham has left a section of the United fanbase calling for a decision to be made over Solskjaer's future.
Meanwhile, Pogba faces losing his spot in the first-team to new signing Donny van de Beek.
