Manchester United have been frontrunners in the race for Declan Rice for some time and now reportedly believe that their English contingent can help convince the 22-year-old midfielder to come to Old Trafford.
Rice has been an exemplary part of David Moyes’ West Ham side ever since his debut in 2017.
Proving himself as one of the best energetic midfielders in the league, Rice helped the Hammers to Europa League football for the first time in five seasons last campaign.
And this has reportedly attracted interest from all of England’s top clubs as speculation over a potential move continues to linger on.
A move to Chelsea has always been in the offing due to Rice’s friendship with Mason Mount.
Being released by the Blues at the age of 15 was arguably the best thing for Rice’s career but he could still be tempted by a return to Stamford Bridge.

And Manchester City are another club who could be in for Rice in 2022 as they may need a long-term replacement for Fernandinho despite having Rodri.
But United chiefs reportedly believe that they hold all the cards for the talent as Rice will want to play alongside the team-mates he has made in the England camp.
The Manchester Evening News states that United have identified Rice as a prime midfield target as they look for a defence-minded partner for Paul Pogba.
A deal has apparently been discussed amongst the United hierarchy as Rice isn’t looking to extend his contract beyond 2024, making him a sellable asset.

And by playing alongside Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard – who joined West Ham on loan last season – there is plenty of reason for Rice to move.
United’s football director John Murtough all but confirmed Rice’s interest in a fans forum alongside Darren Fletcher in April.
The MEN note that Fletcher explained he had heard that players heading out on England duty and representing other countries had started to ask questions about United once more.
