Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Andreas Pereira has been dropped for today’s Premier League clash with Watford. The Red Devils are looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Manchester United star Pereira has struggled for the club this season.
And Solskjaer has chosen to drop him for today’s Premier League showdown with Watford at Old Trafford, saying: “We picked a squad of 18 that we felt was the right 18 here.
“We have got cover on the bench with wide men, forwards, midfielders, & defenders so that was the decision I made.”
United have gone strong for today’s game.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by Watford earlier in the season on a chastening afternoon for Solskjaer’s side.
And, in order to ensure they pick up the points, the United manager has chosen potentially the strongest XI available to him.

David De Gea starts between the sticks, replacing Sergio Romero – who struggled in the 1-1 Europa League draw with Club Brugge on Thursday.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw start at right-back and left-back, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in the middle.
Fred and Nemanja Matic will play slightly behind Bruno Fernandes.
And Mason Greenwood, Daniel James and Anthony Martial make up Solskjaer’s attacking trident.
Meanwhile, Pereira has been dropped just days after the United midfielder toiled in the 1-1 draw with Brugge.

And, speaking after that game, BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves was critical of the midfielder’s performance.
“He’s had the second most appearances for Manchester United this season,” Hargreaves said.
“He shouldn’t be in the position he’s in right now because Manchester United really in the past have always had players, you think of Paul Scholes and Roy Keane.
“Right now the load is being put on these young guys and [Marcus] Rashford and [Anthony] Martial and Mason Greenwood and Pereira.
“And really, they’re going to be really good squad players for Manchester United but if Manchester United want to win the Champions League and win the Premier League, I think Pereira is going to be a good squad player.
“He’s played multiple positions this season.
“He spoke about goals there [in his interview] but I think he’s only got one [this season].
“At times he’s played as a 10, at times he’s played wide, today he’s almost playing as a sitter.
“I think it’s difficult for any young player coming into a team that’s struggling playing multiple positions.
“So I think he’s done well, he’s had a breakthrough season but to expect him to get 15 goals, that’s unrealistic right now.”
