Liverpool made a transfer mistake in not sanctioning a move for Manchester United keeper Sergio Romero. That’s the view of Harry Redknapp, who bellieves the Reds could have done with another option in between the sticks.
Jurgen Klopp had a quiet transfer deadline day after completing his business earlier in the window.
In total, the champions added three players to their squad, with Kostas Tsimikas, Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota all signing for the club.
However, a training ground injury suffered by Alisson had led to some speculation that a keeper could be on the way in the closing hours of the window.
Alisson is set to miss around six weeks with a shoulder injury, with Adrian stepping in for the Brazilian against Aston Villa.

That went horrifically wrong, with Adrian conceding seven times during the historic mauling at Villa Park.
Following the game Klopp backed his keeper, suggesting he wasn’t to blame for the 7-2 defeat.
“The first goal was not good but I don’t think he had anything to do with the other goals,” Klopp told reporters after the game. “We didn’t help him tonight.”
That didn’t stop speculation on Monday, as Spurs’ Paulo Gazzaniga was linked with a loan move.

Merseyside rivals were also in the market for a keeper and had an interest in United back-up Romero.
The Argentina international is now third choice at Old Trafford, following Dean Henderson’s return from Sheffield United.
He had hoped to leave the club, but Everton opted to sign Roma keeper Robin Olsen, leaving Romero in limbo.
Ultimately, Liverpool decided to not sign a keeper and former Spurs boss Redknapp believes they have missed a trick in not bringing in Romero to cover for Alisson’s injury.

“You would have thought he (Romero) might have gone to Liverpool,” he told Sky Sports.
“Liverpool need a goalkeeper. They need a goalkeeper more than Everton.
“If Alisson is out for a while, it could be vital for Liverpool. They’re going to need to make sure they have good back-up because it sounds like he could be out for a long time.”
Redknapp wasn’t the only one left disappointed for Romero, with the player’s wife launching an astonishing social media attack on United, for what she claims is a lack of respect.
Ms Guercio took to Instagram to voice her displeasure and her message read: “Sergio Romero worked hard for this club.
“Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him.
“He helped the team reach 4 finals/semi finals and then was left on the bench only to lose them all.
“It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!”
