Liverpool could be lining up a move for striking sensation Erling Haaland next summer.
The Reds have been linked with the Norwegian throughout the summer alongside clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United.
And the Anfield side have been backed to secure the 21-year-old’s signature.
The Reds also have interests within the Premier League, especially Leicester’s Harvey Barnes.
Being involved in 17 goals last season, Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a big fan of getting the forward to the club.
These two stories, along with a Nat Phillips update, form the focus of Daily Star Sport’s Liverpool transfer round-up…
Haaland for 2022
The Borussia Dortmund forward appears to be settled for the current season but speculation is already rife about next summer.
Europe’s biggest clubs including Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid have all been linked with Haaland – but the Reds have also been in the mix.
And former Westfelanstadion star Michael Rummenigge believes that Anfield is a likely destination for the 21-year-old.
Speaking to Sport1, he said: “We’ll have to wait and see where he goes after this season. Real and Barca have financial problems, so I could imagine him moving to England. His father used to play there too.
“I could well imagine Liverpool for Haaland. Haaland is an exceptional phenomenon.”

‘Strong interest’ in Barnes
While Liverpool can boast attackers including Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, they have been linked with Leicester’s young forward.
With speculation starting in 2020, his 13 goals and four assist last season has only seen the Reds’ admiration grow.
And The Athletic have reported that they are ‘strongly interested’ in the 23-year-old – but a big is yet to transpire.
The Reds can also boast lots of talent in their defensive line, which has left speculation to emerge of the young Englishman’s future.
Having expressed an open mind himself, the 24-year-old could still be playing elsewhere by the end of the window.
Speaking on The Red Agenda Podcast, Anfield insider James Pearce said: “I was told that Liverpool are still open to offers for Nat Phillips. Of course, with [Ibrahima] Konaté, they’ve got four elite centre-backs there, they’ve also got Rhys Williams as a fifth option at the moment.
“There’s been loads of interest in Nat Phillips, but no suitable offers on the table as of yet, but I think I’d expect that to change the closer we get to the deadline.”
