Liverpool fans are convinced they have found something out of the ordinary with the club’s official squad photo for the 2021/22 season.
The Reds have reached that stage of the season where the club organises a photograph featuring all the first-team players and coaching staff.
Liverpool can then put the photo on merchandise like calendars for fans to buy.
But anyone that does buy an official Liverpool calendar for the 2021/22 season might notice something a bit strange if they look closely.
That is because eagle-eyed fans on Twitter have spotted what they believe to be some irregularities which suggest the image has been photoshopped.
All of the players are included in the picture, which was taken at the club’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby – that much is certain.
But there is something amiss with Harvey Elliott, who attended the photo opportunity on crutches.
The 18-year-old midfielder is currently out of action with a dislocated ankle, yet is on the far left side of the photograph, standing next to Curtis Jones.
A behind-the-scenes video on Liverpool’s social media channels shows Elliott definitely was present, but his legs look slightly odd.
Having looked closely at the photo Liverpool fans on Twitter have determined that Sadio Mane’s legs have been photoshopped onto Elliott’s body.
What do you make of Liverpool's club photo? Is there something fishy? Have your say in the comments below.
Whether that is the case is unconfirmed, but it might simply be the case because Liverpool did not want Elliott standing up straight and putting his body weight onto his injured ankle.
That would be understandable considering he suffered a serious injury during Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Leeds United on September 12.
Elliott underwent surgery on his right ankle following the challenge by Pascal Struijk and the club are hopeful he could be back in action before the end of the season.

“We were able to reduce the dislocation immediately on the pitch and Harvey had surgery to repair the fracture and ligaments damaged in the incident,” Liverpool team doctor Dr Jim Moxon told theDaily Mail.
“The operation was a success so his comeback starts now.
“We won't put pressure on him by setting a specific timeframe beyond being able to say with confidence we expect him to feature again later in the season following our rehab programme.”
