Jurgen Klopp has labelled Virgil van Dijk a "quick healer" after the Liverpool centre-back underwent successful surgery on his knee.
Holland international Van Dijk ruptured his ACL in the Merseyside derby and is facing up to nine months out injured for the Reds.
On Friday morning Liverpool released a statement to confirm the defender had gone under the knife and is now focusing on his rehabilitation.
And now Liverpool boss Klopp has announced: "He is a quick healer. He can cope, it's clear. All these things will help.
"I realised long ago that life is a challenge. This is a challenge 100 per cent. We will deal with the situation and make the best of it."

Liverpool were unable to provide a timeframe as to when Van Dijk will be back in action for the Reds.
Friday's statement read: "Virgil van Dijk has undergone surgery on the knee ligament injury he sustained earlier this month.
"The Liverpool defender's planned operation took place in London and was conducted successfully.
"Van Dijk will now immediately focus on the beginning of his rehabilitation with the support of the Reds' medical department.
"No timeframe has been placed on the Dutchman's return to action."
