Jurgen Klopp has brilliantly revealed that his morning routine involves tackling the daily Wordle challenge – and the Liverpool boss is not ready to change his lucky habit ahead of the Champions League final.
After agonisingly missing out on the Premier League title, the German boss, 54, takes his team to Paris for the end of season showpiece – against the most decorated side in European history. In a repeat of the 2018 final, 13-time champions Real Madrid are the opponents for Saturday's contest with Liverpool looking to avenge the 3-1 defeat in Kyiv.
All talk had been on the Reds' pursuit of the quadruple. Klopp's side have already claimed the League Cup and FA Cup for their trophy cabinet but painfully fell one point short of Manchester City in the race for the top-flight crown. However, Los Blancos are also to complete a historic double following their domination of La Liga.
Trying to ease his players into the final, Klopp admitted that he wore Cristiano Ronaldo underwear before the painful defeat four years ago. But this time around the Reds boss will stick to what he knows for his pre-match ritual.
"I do the same actually every day. I drink hot water and then I play Wordle. But not the English version," Klopp told BBC Breakfast when quizzed on his sunrise style. "You can do it and then you send it to friends or I send it to Ulla [his wife], or whoever is in the group.

"You have to realise that the older you get, the happier you are with 'oh I still can remember words'. When I was 20 years old we would have played Wordle and thought 'why would you do that?'
"But when you play it at 55 you think 'yes, I am happy that it [the brain] still works'. So that is my morning routine, and it will be my morning routine for the Champions League final as well."
