Jamie Vardy fumed "f*** them" and "f***ing a***holes" during a conversation with wife Rebekah Vardy while lashing out at reports published during Euro 2016 that he was asked to ensure she 'didn't distract' the England squad.
The Leicester City striker, who was part of the Three Lions squad that travelled to France for the tournament, has said that Wayne Rooney's claims that they spoke in regards to the media activity of his wife during that period are 'nonsense'.
Texts have now been shown in court that show just how angry reports of that made both Rebekah and Jamie, with the striker describing those who did the report as f****** a***holes.
The messages began after Rebekah sent Jamie an article from the Independent with the title 'Wayne Rooney holds talks with Jamie Vardy to ensure his wife Rebekah doesn't distract England squad' alongside the message: "Seriously????"
After which their conversation over WhatsApp was as follows:
Jamie: "No not at all babes x."
Rebekah: "T**** trying to make me into a scapegoat x."
Jamie: "F****** a***holes x."
After Rebekah then sent an article from 101greatgoals, that cited a report from The Times that said Rooney had asked Vardy to make sure his wife 'lowered her profile during Euro 2016', the chat continued.
Rebekah: "Jesus… This must have come from somewhere. Bet it's his Mrs manager x."
Jamie: "Haha no1 said a word, probably the bloody FA."
Rebekah: "Joke, makes my blood boil X."
Jamie: "Papers for u with nothing better to do cos they got no stories x."
Rebekah: "Exactly not fair to pick on me though w****** x."
Jamie: "That's all they ever do. It's like attack us as much as possible x."
Rebekah: "Yep I know X."
Jamie: "Build us up to smash us back down x."
Rebekah: "Yeah exactly t**** X."
Jamie: "F*** them they ain't bringing us down x."
Rebekah: "Not a**** babe x."
Jamie: "Me neither babes x."
The High Court of Justice is currently overseeing the Vardy v Rooney case, which begun back in 2019 on social media.
