Arsenal are enduring yet another dip in form after a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool left them down in 10th place in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s men have come in for criticism in recent weeks, with skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in particular baring much of the brunt.

Arsenal lost a number of players in the recent January transfer window, with Mesut Ozil the most notable departure after his exile from the squad, while a couple of first-team members left last summer.

But how are the six players faring that have left during Arteta’s time at the helm? Daily Star Sport has the rundown.

1. Emiliano Martinez

Having called time on a 10-year stint at Arsenal last summer, Martinez has excelled at Aston Villa following his £17m switch to the Midlands.

The Argentine stopper has kept 14 Premier League clean sheets this term, a number the leaky Bernd Leno would be proud of.

It seemed like a bold call at the time as an FA Cup and Community Shield champion to leave, but it’s paid off so far for Martinez.

2. Matt Macey

Reserve goalkeeper Macey made just two first-team appearances for the Gunners in an eight year spell in north London.

And he understandably decided it was time to seek pastures anew in January 2021 by joining Hibs.

Having almost immediately made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Celtic, Macey has unfortunately found himself watching on from the bench with Ofir Marciano preferred.

3. Sokratis

In a surprise turn of events, Sokratis actually found himself back at the Emirates sooner than expected after his exit in January this year.

The Greek defender faced Arsenal with new club Olympiacos in the Europa League as the Gunners ran out 3-2 winners on aggregate.

But Sokratis did manage to keep a clean sheet in north London which he’ll no doubt be happy with.

4. Shkodran Mustafi

Mustafi jumped on the sinking ship at Schalke during the recent January transfer window as they stare down the barrel of relegation from the Bundesliga.

Playing alongside Sead Kolasinac, the pair have done little to turn things around in Gelsenkirchen, with just one win to the club’s name this term.

In fact, Bild are reporting that Mustafi may well have already played his last game for Schalke after he was dropped by manager Dimitrios Grammozis for 'sporting reasons’.

5. Mesut Ozil

The 32-year-old immediately joined Super Lig giants Fenerbahce on a three-year deal.

But he is yet to pick up a goal or assist in seven appearances for the Turkish outfit.

    6. Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Arteta may be thinking he was too trigger happy in letting Mkhitaryan leave on a free transfer for Roma last summer.

After a decent loan spell in the Italian capital, the Armenian joined permanently eight months ago.

And he has managed to score 11 goals in all competitions this term, while setting up the same amount.
