Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ready to reignite transfer interest in Atletico Madrid playmaker Saul Niguez. The Spain international is wanted at Old Trafford and is said to be open to a move. So Express Sport will now take a look at how the Red Devils could line up with the 25-year-old – as well as Jadon Sancho and Dayot Upamecano.
Manchester United were offered the chance to sign Saul back in 2015, when Louis van Gaal was in charge.
But the Red Devils surprisingly decided against signing the playmaker, with Van Gaal having the likes of Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney in his squad at the time.
Saul is a box-to-box midfielder, capable of operating anywhere in the centre of the park.
And, if he joins United, it’s feasible he’d play alongside Paul Pogba in the middle of the park.
The pair could then put in the dogged defensive work and create chances for Bruno Fernandes, who would be deployed further ahead.

Unless you’ve spent lockdown on the moon, you’d know United want to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Negotiations with Dortmund have been tricky so far, with the Bundesliga giants adamant the forward won’t be going anywhere.
But United remain confident they’ll be able to sign Sancho.
If that happens he’s poised to play on the right of the Red Devils attack, with Marcus Rashford on the left.
And the pair would then create chances for Anthony Martial, who is currently the club’s top scorer with 23 goals to his name.
