Footballer wastes time by corner flag for 2 minutes in elite ‘s***housery’ move

A player has wasted time at the end of stoppage time by holding the ball in the corner flag for two minutes straight in a move described as "elite s***housery".

Israel international Mohammad Abu Fani has been hailed for his time wasting tactics on social media after helping Maccabi Haifa to a 3-2 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

Haifa came back from 2-0 down with three goals in the final 13 minutes to claim a dramatic home win on Monday night to remain second in the Israeli Premier League.

However, the final two minutes of the match consisted of Abu Fani holding the ball at the corner flag.

Abu Fani was first closed down by two opposition players as he shielded the ball deep in the Tel-Aviv half.

After winning a corner for his side he celebrated passionately in front of his own fans before winning a further corner and three throw-ins as he kept hold of possession.

He was joined by two teammates to help him fend off the Tel-Aviv players attempting to win the ball off him as another opposing player flew into a tackle as they became frustrated.

Abu Fani's antics produced a divided response from Premier League fans on social media, with some praising his mastery of the dark arts, while others labelled it as anti-football.

One fan commented on footage of the incident: “Jesus wept, this would be infuriating to watch as an opposition fan.”

Another added: “Worst thing I’ve ever seen.”

A third fan tweeted: “Would’ve had his ankles swiped from underneath him in the Premier League.”

Meanwhile, another fan simply labelled it: “Insane s***housery.”

Abu Fani's time wasting allowed his side to hold on for an eighth straight league win as they keep pace with leaders Hapoel Beer-Sheva, who they now trail by just two points after 16 matches.
