Christian Pulisic is widely considered the best American soccer player today and the “FIFA 22” ratings confirm it.
The U.S. national team captain and Chelsea star leads all his fellow USMNTers with an 82 overall rating in the new game released on Oct. 1. That’s no surprise, but the player who follows him might be.
Center back John Brooks, who hasn’t enjoyed a great start to the 2021-2022 season, has the second-best overall rating in “FIFA 22” with a 78.
The other five Americans on the most high-profile European clubs follow Brooks. The Top 10 is rounded out by a trio of MLS-based national teamers, which includes center back Aaron Long, who has been out since May 15 with a ruptured Achilles tendon.
There are only two players on the USMNT list who also factor into the ranking of the top American national teamers in “FIFA 22” under the age of 21: That distinction falls to Gio Reyna (77) and Sergiño Dest (76).
The Top 10 list of Under-21 USMNTers also follows below and they’re all based abroad except for James Sands (NYCFC) and Jesus Ferreira (FC Dallas). The name of the player bringing up the rear might raise an eyebrow: former FC Barcelona man and current Marseille winger Konrad de la Fuente (68).
