Fans gobsmacked Rodgers is still in a job after conceding record number of goals

Football fans were left gobsmacked that Brendan Rodgers is still in a job after it emerged Leicester have conceded 22 goals after seven games.

The Foxes have the worst defensive record of any club in the Premier League era after seven games. And as Leicester sink to the bottom of the table fans have started to question what it will take for the Foxes to sack Rodgers.

Leicester were once again embarrassed on Saturday evening as Tottenham Hotspur hit the Foxes for six. Son Heung-min came off the bench to notch a hat-trick as Harry Kane, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Eric Dier also found the net.

One fan joked: "If Rodgers can keep a job while having a worse defensive record than Bournemouth I might just go get my coaching license!"

"If Rodgers isn’t sacked tonight we need to come to the realisation really quick that the owners of our football club have decided on relegation over paying out his contract," a second added. While a third tweeted: "Surely that's the bullet for Rodgers now? Worst defensive record ever in the Prem after 7 games!"

And a fourth said: "I want Rodgers gone by the morning. Clearly can't organise a defence."

Rodgers admitted the problem himself to the BBC: "It hasn't been good. You have to be honest, we have to be stronger defensively.

"You're not going to win games if you can't defend. Some of our attacking is great but you have to defend."
