Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri has revealed that his girlfriend was the first person to tell him that he had signed for the club.
Pellistri joined United on deadline day last October for a reported fee of €10million (£8.4m), but is yet to make an appearance for the club.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Alaves, the club where he spent the second half of season.
And the United midfielder has recently opened up on his move to Old Trafford, where he explained that it was his girlfriend who first broke the news to him that he had joined the Red Devils.
"My girlfriend kept refreshing United’s website to see if I had signed,” Pellistri told The Athletic. “Finally, she shouted, “Look! Manchester have put you on their page!” We all started to celebrate."
Pellistri also explained that the club made a kind gesture to him following his move from Uruguayan club Penarol.
“The club gave me a house filled with enough food for two months,” he said.
“The difference between United and a club in Uruguay was incredible. There were so many people to help look after us.

“If we had any problem, I just had to call. If I wanted a new phone — no problem. They would get one for me.
“I didn’t really want many things. I didn’t even ask for maté (a traditional South American drink made from holly leaves) because I don’t really drink it."
United are reportedly considering the termination of Pellistri’s loan following a lack of first-team opportunities with the Spanish club.
Pellstri joined Alaves in August with the hope of gaining vital first-team experience, but has started just one of their opening seven league games.
Goal claims United are growing increasingly frustrated by the situation and have the option to recall Pellistri should he play less than 1,000 minutes of football before the start of December.
The Uruguayan has played just 195 mintues so far and is unlikely to meet that quota in time.
