An England footballer was reportedly at the heart of a blackmail plot during the lockdown.
The international, who is said to have bedded a transgender escort multiple times, was the subject of a blackmail attempt worth £30,000.
A pre-op woman was contacted by the Premier League star he they found her profile on an escorting website.
He is alleged to have paid her £150 for sex in April of 2021 as they met in a rented city centre flat numerous times.
The player believed their meetings would remain private, however, she secretly recorded him, saved texts and photoed him in his car outside her property.
It is not known if he is a current international.
According to The Sun, she used the evidence to demand cash from the footballer, and told him to cough up £30k.
It is claimed the England ace went to the police and the trans escort was ultimately arrested on suspicion of blackmail last June.
She was quizzed on the relationship, and the investigation was left on file after the player opted against providing a statement.
The report says the Premier League player's club was made aware of the circumstances. His form had apparently dipped on the pitch at the time.
A source told The Sun: "The footballer was really worried his name would come out and it would lead to him being abused by fans.
“He just wanted to bury it so despite the efforts of officers, he refused to co-operate, which left them investigating a blackmail plot without a victim."
