Edinson Cavani will not be leaving Manchester United as the Uruguay forward has made a u-turn and decided to stay, according to reports.
Cavani, 34, was reportedly heading away from Old Trafford to join Boca Juniors in South America but he will now extend his time in Manchester for another season.
An official announcement is expected next week after
reported Cavani has decided to stay at United.
They claim that next week it should be made official, and while the striker had doubts amid interest from Boca Juniors, he will fulfil his contract.
Cavani's decision will delight United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who insisted he was "doing everything" to keep him in Manchester.
Cavani scored twice in Thursday's 6-2 thrashing of Roma in the Europa League semi-finals taking his tally to 12 goals in 33 appearances.
Solskjaer said Cavani was "excellent" after saying it's been hard for him playing at the Theatre of Dreams with empty stands.
‘I’m absolutely delighted with him. You can see the difference in him, he’s worked up his fitness having had a long lay-off. He’s making up for lost time," said the Norwegian boss.
"He knows my feelings, he knows that I would love to have him for another year, we have spoken about it.
"I understand this year has been very difficult, but I promised him that Old Trafford and Manchester is a different place with fans in the stadium."
