Wantaway Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek could be on his way to Arsenal after the emergence of an interesting family connection.
The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for the Dutch star during the summer transfer window but decided against striking a deal, opting instead for Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard.
But with Mikel Arteta set to lose both Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey in January to the Africa Cup of Nations, there's a chance Arsenal could revisit their interest in Van de Beek.
If that happens, the north Londoners might be able to count on the help of club legend Dennis Bergkamp to get a deal over the line.
That's because former Ajax star Van de Beek is dating Estelle Bergkamp, daughter of Arsenal hero Dennis.
The non-flying Dutchman reportedly told his potential future son-in-law that a move to the Premier League would benefit his career, back when he moved to Old Trafford.
The less said about that the better, but a switch to the Emirates could be just the ticket for a player whose development has stalled spectacularly at United.

Once considered one of the best young talents in the whole of Europe, Van de Beek has found opportunities limited at best since his mega-money move to the Red Devils.
Since he joined United from Ajax, the Dutch international has started just four games in the Premier League and been an unused sub on 25 occasions.
Despite being promised more playing time this season, he has been forced to sit and watch from the bench as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have limped along at home and in Europe.

In total he has made just three appearances this season, only one of which has come in the Premier League – a five-minute cameo at home to Newcastle in September.
The beleaguered star has even changed his agent in an attempt to find a way out of his Old Trafford nightmare, swapping long-term ally Guido Albers for Ali Durson.
