Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club on a permanent basis. Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is supposedly keen to keep the stopper around, considering he only signed a long-term deal last season, but first-team concerns could force the 24-year-old’s hand when it comes to going in search of new opportunities.
After benefitting from a long-awaited run in the team towards the end of last campaign, Henderson’s game time has fallen off a cliff in recent months.
Incredibly, he has appeared just once for the Red Devils all season in a 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham.
David De Gea’s return to form, despite United’s overall struggles, came at the worst possible time for Henderson who is quickly falling out of England contention.
With the Qatar World Cup just around the corner, his international prospects are reportedly front and centre of his decision making when it comes to the upcoming transfer window.

According to 90min, the club have already told Henderson that they would be willing to let him go out on loan until 2023.
Given that his current deal runs until 2025, such an arrangement may be favourable for the Red Devils, but Henderson is reportedly keen to leave on a permanent basis.
The stopper has already been on three separate loan spells while on the books of United, the club he joined at the age of 14.
He has also, supposedly, held private talks with Solskjaer, although the Norwegian was unable to provide guarantees about his game time going forward.

Leaving permanently could be made even more enticing in light of claims that De Gea has been approached over extending his contract.
A number of clubs are thought to be sniffing around Henderson, including Newcastle, which is understandable for a keeper deemed worthy of a starting berth for Man Utd last season.
Old Trafford is not exactly a secure place to be at present, with Solskjaer’s future hanging in the balance.
This weekend’s tie against Watford could be crucial, with dismal defeats against Leicester, Liverpool and Manchester City preceding the international break.
The prospect of working under Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino or Erik ten Hag may be exciting for a player like Henderson, but it could also create concerns about the security of his position at the club.
The United board are currently believed to be split on the notion of sacking Solskjaer, with a lack of alternatives delaying any decisive action.
After just 11 games, the club are already nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, and a tough run of fixtures lies ahead.
