David Beckham and Sir Alex Ferguson enjoyed a brief reunion at Wembley on Friday evening as they watched England and Scotland battle to fiery Group D draw during Euro 2020.

The Manchester United icons had a famous falling out during their time together at Old Trafford, with the England skipper being hit above the eye by a boot following one infamous Fergie rant.

Having put their feud behind them years later, fans of both would've been delighted to see the smile the pair shared on Friday, with Fergie no doubt more pleased with the result than Beckham.

The meeting came after the legendary Scot seemed to be denied a parking space before kick-off, then eventually making his way into the private boxes to watch the fixture.

Following their clash in 2003, Beckham needed stitches on a cut he sustained from the boot, which Mikael Silvestre says left everyone in the dressing room "shocked".

Silvestre told FourFourTwo : “Yes, I was there.

"Everyone was shocked, but things like this happen in dressing rooms.

“It was a random kick by the boss – it was just unfortunate that the boot went straight into Beckham’s face! He was very angry; we had to intervene to prevent a confrontation.

Was David Beckham right to leave United for Real Madrid? Let us know in the comments.

"But that was the end of it then. Still, it impacted their relationship and was probably among the reasons why David left that summer and signed for Real Madrid.”

Beckham opened up on the altercation in his 2003 autobiography ‘My Side’.

He said: “The boss took a step or two towards me. There was a boot on the floor. He swung his leg and kicked it. At me? At the wall? It could have been anywhere, he was that angry now.

“I went for the gaffer. I don't know if I've ever lost control like that before. Suddenly it was like some mad scene out of a gangster movie.”

“What a day,” Beckham then wrote on Instagram following the Treble anniversary in 2019.

“So amazing to be back at Old Trafford for the Manchester United Foundation raising money for a great cause.

“Emotional to see the Boss back and to be on the same field with the players that we made history with…. Incredible feeling.”
