Darwin Nunez destroyed RB Leipzig with four second-half goals to get Liverpool fans licking their lips ahead of the new season.
Nunez failed to find the target in earlier pre-season games against Manchester United and Crystal Palace. But he put that right in some style against Leipzig. Introduced two minutes after half-time, the £85million signing from Benfica wasted no time getting his name on the scoresheet, tucking home a penalty on 48 minutes to make it 2-0.
He doubled his tally just a couple of minutes later, confidently finishing past a Janis Blaswich to extend Liverpool's advantage to three.

And Nunez completed his quickfire hat-trick on 67 minutes, sliding in to tap home a pinpoint cross from youngster Harvey Elliott. But he wasn't done there.
With the Leipzig defenders pleading for mercy, Nunez showed exactly why Liverpool decided to splash out close to £100million on the 23-year-old Uruguayan frontman.
Fabio Carvalho – signed from Fulham this summer – carried the ball forward into the Leipzig half before playing in Nunez, who curled his shot through Blaswich's gloves to make it 5-0 and put the icing on the cake for the Reds.
Some opposition supporters mocked Nunez for his failure to get on the scoresheet against United and Palace earlier this month. But no-one was mocking him after this performance as Liverpool fans went on social media to rave about their new man.
