Tottenham outcast Danny Rose is closing in on a £5m move to Genoa.
The England international is desperate to leave Spurs and is keen to join the Italian outfit to guarantee himself regular first-team football.
Rose, 30, knows he has no future at Spurs under Jose Mourinho and a move to Serie A appeals to him.
It is understood Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would like a small fee for Rose, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the London club.
Genoa would prefer to sign him on a season-long loan before completing a free transfer next summer and talks are continuing between both cubs.
Rose struggled to earn a place in Mourinho's side last season and spent the second half of the campaign on-loan at Newcastle.
But his relationship with Mourinho reached an all-time low last week when Rose wasn't even given a shirt number when Spurs registered their squad with the Premier League.
