Coleen Rooney "not going" to US as they "disagree" on Wayne’s DC United move

Coleen Rooney is reportedly “not going” to America despite husband Wayne Rooney taking on a new managerial job at DC United.

The Manchester United and England legend landed at Washington’s Dulles airport on Monday to discuss managing his former MLS side. Rooney, 36, is understood to be eager to take the £1million-per-year job in order to add crucial managerial experience to his resume.

But wife Coleen, 36, is unconvinced at the move, reportedly believing it will cause additional strain to their marriage. And the WAG herself will not be moving to the US again, having revealed previously that she often cried herself to sleep during Wayne’s spell there from 2018 to 2020.

A source reportedly told The Sun: “Wayne has discussed the job with Coleen, but she has categorically said she’s not going.

“That said, she doesn’t want to stand in his way. They have an understanding that they are a team but emotionally she isn’t invested. There has been a lot of back and forth but they now agree to disagree. The children are settled in school and do not want to go back to America, so they plan to stay in Cheshire with their mum.

“It will be very hard for everyone as a managerial job is much more time consuming than being a player, so nipping back to the UK will be hard.”

Their four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass are said to have found life difficult the first time around in America.

The former striker made 52 appearances for DC United as a player, scoring an impressive 25 goals despite being in the twilight years of his career.
