Christian Pulisic has decided to ignore links to Manchester United and Liverpool as he wants to fight for his place at Chelsea, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The American was the star man as the Blues secured Champions League football last season under Frank Lampard.

However, Pulisic has struggled to cement his place in the starting XI this term following the arrivals of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech.

New boss Thomas Tuchel seems to have also placed Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount ahead of the ex-Borussia Dortmund star in the pecking order.

Romano insists that Pulisic will fight for his future at Stamford Bridge.

“Christian Pulisic has always been respectful with Chelsea – great professional,” Romano tweeted.

“There’s interest from top clubs in case he’ll leave, normal for this kind of talent.

“But Pulisic is still fighting for Chelsea… and nothing will be decided before June.”

With so many attacking options at his disposal, it will be extremely difficult for Tuchel to keep everyone happy.

“When you sign and play for Chelsea, it’s part of the job description to be patient and impatient at the same time,” the manager warned.

“All of my players are competitors and they want to play very minute.

“At the same time, when you’re not selected, you have to stay patient and not lose confidence.

“When it was possible for him to start around Sheffield United and Barnsley, one game came too soon and Barnsley wasn’t easy.

“If you turn it around, it’s the duty of the players to show up and really earn to play. This is what Christian does.

“I feel him in the last days very positive and doing the very best in his situation.”

When quizzed on the size of his squad, Tuchel added: “It’s the perfect size and it’s a big effort from the medical department we can choose from many players.

“The only thing I am missing is not having five substitutes to use more of my players. I have so many players that I can’t reward.

“I have been pushing for that at all the clubs I have coached. There are players I would like to reward for their effort and attitude but the size of the squad is actually perfect.”
