Chelsea fans have waxed lyrical about on-loan star Conor Gallagher who put in another stellar performance for Crystal Palace against Brighton on Monday night. The Eagles could only battle to a draw in the M23 Derby, but Gallagher’s tireless running and goal threat once again drew compliments from fans and respected figures.
Wilfred Zaha put Palace ahead before half-time from the penalty spot, but Neal Maupay rescued a point for Brighton in dramatic circumstances with a last-gasp lob.
The result will feel like a win for the Seagulls, who continue their fantastic start to the campaign under Graham Potter.
Despite the disappointment, Gallagher impressed once again, and he has already notched two goals and one assist from central-midfield so far this campaign.
The 21-year-old was deemed not quite ready to step up to the Chelsea midfield this season by Thomas Tuchel, despite showing promise on loan at West Bromwich Albion last campaign.

Although Gallagher is doing his best to prove the German wrong, the decision is not overly surprising given the uber-competitive nature of the Blues’ midfield.
Even so, Chelsea fans seemingly cannot wait for his return to the club.
On a social media post that showed Gallagher’s relentless pressing against Brighton, one fan responded: “He needs to be integrated into first team next season.”
Another replied: “The fitness coaches at Cobham must be ridiculous,” while one more admirer proclaimed, “Runs even more than [N’Golo] Kante, wow.”

Despite the rave reviews, his future is still likely to remain up in the air thanks to the embarrassment of riches currently vying for minutes in Chelsea’s midfield.
Jorginho, Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Saul Niguez will all pose a huge barrier to regular game time in the middle of the park, which could tempt Gallagher into a move elsewhere.
Although fans will always root for homegrown talent, his potential exit would likely be to a top Premier League club, allowing the Blues to make a pretty penny in the process.
Chelsea-bound or not, another strong season would do Gallagher a world of good, not to mention a year under the tutelage of midfield general Patrick Vieira.
The Frenchman is not the only Arsenal legend to admire the youngster’s eye-catching skillset, as Thierry Henry spoke glowingly of him to Sky Sports on Monday.
“He has an eye for a goal at the minute, he’s way higher than when he used to play for West Brom on loan from Chelsea,” he said.
“I think he’s a player that loves to be unleashed, so let him go, let him go and put pressure, let him go and play, let him go and tackle.
“I thought he was outstanding.”
